About Natural Language Acquisition (NLA)

When we learned our first language, verbal skills came first. Only after we were conversational did they teach us to read and write the language we already spoke.

That's what's "natural" about NLA, which, based on what we now know about neuroplasticity, allows us to take advantage of the brain benefits of bilingualism at any age.
 
My Spanish Coaching sessions are not regular language instruction, nor are they teaching or tutoring. After all, my clients include people who have "studied" with teachers and tutors for years, and while they can read some and write a little, they cannot have a conversation in Spanish.
